DESCRIPTION:The Museum is delighted to host the Green Mountain Wood Carvers (GMWC) May Carve-In! Stop in to watch a wood carver at work\, ask a question\, or learn about this carving club. \nThe Green Mountain Woodcarvers will be carving in the workshop. The GMWC is a group of carvers from Vermont with members from around New England. They meet monthly for “Carve-Ins” around the State and host a annual Show and Class (in August). We’re delighted to have them at the Museum! \nAt the Carve-In\, carvers talk and work on a variety of woodcarving projects. Carvers are always happy to explain how they carve and to share their expertise with others. DESCRIPTION:Scientist Melanie Giangreco and museum staff will share how invasive aquatic invertebrates can impact Vermont waterways and ultimately birds. \nWe will start indoors\, introducing some native and invasive animals\, freshwater habitats\, and typical birds. After discussion and observations\, we will visit an upland forest pond and a typical Vermont brook. What is actually here\, what could change\, and how can we help?
