Bird Walks

Guided Bird Walks

Come along on one of our many bird walks! Every walk is led by experienced birders, and you are welcome whether you are just beginning your interest in birds or or have decades of scientific research under your belt.

Monthly Monitoring Walks happen the last Saturday of each month. We use these to survey the property, documenting which species are present throughout the year. We meet in the parking lot at 7:30 a.m. in the morning in spring and summer, and shift to 8 a.m. in the fall and winter. These walks usually take 45 minutes to an hour.

Early Birder Morning Walks in May and June celebrate the return of migratory species. Walk routes vary from week to week, and may take you into our upper forest, around the pond, and through the meadows. These walks take about an hour, but can run longer when the walkers so desire! After the walk, we often gather to see what’s at the feeders, sharing coffee, tea, and sometimes baked treats—and of course some tales of birding!
