Teacher / Leader Resources

What to Study?

Teachers and leaders often pick a topic to explore before, during, and after their field trips. The Museum is ideal for learning about adaptations, migration, habitats, bird identification, and nesting. We support broad science concepts and in-depth study. Because we do this with outdoor, indoor, and active learning, we can bring science to the artists, art to the scientists, and help engage many styles of learning.

You can find more details about frequently-chosen foci on the Topics of Study page. In addition, some leaders use the Museum and its grounds as a site for expanding their students’ art instruction, developing youth outdoor observation skills, and giving students a wider space in which to practice mindfulness.
